Grandma's House

Matthew is having a fabulous time with grandma and grandpa Pozun. He did fairly well on the plane, though the car ride to Salt Lake was a bit of a different story. He did a really good job of scaring everyone on the plane as he had a meltdown in the line to get on the plane, so everyone on the plane was able to give me the "dear god, please don't let them sit near me" look as I attempted to nurse a screaming baby sitting in one of the wheelchairs at the top of the jetway since we'd already given our tickets. Once we made it to Bath County we've had a wonderful pre-Thanksgiving dinner of deep fried turkey. Matthew got a lot of attention as expected and deserved!

Grandma played with him and his toys on the floor:
And gave lots of kisses:
And read bedtime stories:
And made Matthew smile and giggle lots:
Then he chatted with grandpa:

and shared his dino with grandpa:
Matthew also told uncle Matt some stories:
And showed him how he could stand up tall:
Uncle Matt even tried to share his Thanksgiving feast:
Grandma Dot's house is also a good place to practice sitting up:
What in the world are these things all over grandma's house Mom?
Don't worry Mom, whatever it is I've wrestled it to the ground for you!

We have a pseudo-sitter!

Matthew's been working on sitting up on his own. Here's some of our practice sessions. Note the dogs on the periphery. They might be the most excited about Matthew spending more time exploring the floor.

Matthew hanging out with Sky.
A happy baby in his dino pjs.

So I laid Matt down on the floor with his toys in front of him to encourage him to reach for them. He's smarter than mommy and just pulled the blanket and toys to him.
Matt in his daddy's old UVA outfit.
And speaking of UVA, apparently Sky is just as depressed as the rest of us about UVA football.

Another Great Weekend!

Grandma and Grandpa Watson came back from their adventure to spend another weekend with Matt. Though they spent the week working on a Diplodocus bone, lil' Matt went to work on their gift of a Triceratops. First he was a little scared:
Then he showed that Triceratops who's boss:

Now they're best friends forever!
Matthew also completed his first 5K this weekend! He wasn't quite tall enough to make the front page picture, but mommy, daddy, grandma and cousins Jerry and Brenda did!

There was also a nice sized article with the story including some nice quotes from Aunt Carmen on the second page:

Vintage Matt

There's definitely a benefit to having an uncle with your name. Here's lil' Matt in Uncle Matt's vintage shirt:
Also, thanks to those of you who have left comments on the blog. I'm kinda an idiot about how the comments work, but I think I've changed the settings so they'll post and I'll see them in a timely manner.

Photo Shoot

We took Matthew for photos tonight. I'll save the Christmas photos for a later surprise, but here's some of the others. Tonight was the last night Matthew will be able to wear his overalls. I had to squeeze them on him:

We also got some of him as naked baby. He enjoyed it so much it was hard to get a good pic as he kept scooting off the photo table. We also had to be on drool patrol and missed a few drops, but they're still cute:

Matthew had two very special visitors this week.
He told grandma all sorts of stories.
And played with Grandpa and his pig.

Sky couldn't help be feel a little jealous. He used to be Grandma and Grandpa's grandbaby. Grandpa made sure Sky got plenty of tennis ball time as well.

Meanwhile, June just wanted to lay on the floor with Matthew to get attention.
Also, it was confirmed the object I had posted is/was used for smoking. I'm sure it was only used for legal substances, but there sure is a lot of finger pointing going on : ) Uncle John made a good point that I forgot Dad in the list of potential suspects. If walls could talk the stories this house would tell about those crazy kids.

We have teeth!

So much earlier than I would have preferred, Matthew has his first two teeth. Here's my first attempt at getting a picture:
Here's a decent picture of his first 2 teeth:
And here's some pictures of Olivia and Matt enjoying the playmat:

And here's something random I found in a desk drawer. Any ideas what it is? I have some, but would like to think better of my aunt and uncles and/or grandmother : ) The tube and bead are hollow.

And another picture of Matt and the pig in serious conversation:
