Wow, I'm in Love

So, I've been wondering/worrying about backing up the blog in case blogger.com/Google fail me one day. I make a .pdf back up every once in a while, but have yet to print it because the .pdf has lots of wasted space and would be approximately a gazillion pages long.

Additionally, while I update the blog quite frequently, Matthew's adorable baby book from Hallmark has been sadly neglected. I mean, everyone knows the 2nd child's book is barely filled out, but the first? What a terrible mother!

So, I've been investigating ways to print out the blog that don't require a lot of editing/work from me. (Note: Before printing, I should go back and do some basic editing for sentence structure and clarity in my posts . . . I can't believe some of you still read this junk I type.)

Anyway, I found one solution and it was terrible. It took the text of my blog, which is minimal, and put all my pictures in the margins. Admittedly, the mediocre pics are the best part of the blog and aren't enjoyable in 1"x1" squares. Today, however, I found Blog2Print and did a test run of the blog from Matthew's birth to today. The product it produced was awesome and perfect in almost every way.

The downside?

7 short months of blogging turned into a 184 page book, meaning it would have been crazy expensive so I restrained from hitting the print now button.

Though I continue my other back ups, one day (maybe around Matthew's 1st bday) I will clean up some of my posts and print them into a book. Then I'll wait 70 years and sit back with a good mint julep watching my grandkids giggle at Matthew and I's ridiculous haircuts, outfits, naked baby pictures and more. I can't wait for that day.

In the meantime, thank you to all of you who have read/looked at 184 pages of our life in the past 7 months. What a strange trip!

  1. We thought about doing that each year (when Natalie turned 1 and 2). Evan had found Blog2Print a while ago. We haven't done it yet, but I'm thinking this year I will do it, and do as you said: go back, clean it up, delete the somewhat unnecessary ones. Could be fun!

  2. Abbe - If you do it, let me know how it works out . . . not that you all don't seem to have a bazillion other things going on right now :)
